This series is a collaboration between Sutera and Humans of Brunei Darussalam, a photography project featuring the stories of everyday Bruneians, inspired by Brandon Stanton’s hugely popular Humans of New York series.

“Right now, we are already racing against time. And then, you cannot just expect the government to support you 100%. Stop being spoon-fed. That’s all that matters. Don’t spoon-feed. Right now, I am actually thankful seeing a lot of my friends start up businesses and being successful. They have businesses, have their own career, and some are getting married and starting their own life. They have their life going for them. At this point, we cannot rely on our parents, we have to expose ourselves to the environment and see what chances we can take.”
