JBoxing is a term coined by Dato’ Jovian Mandagie for the annual Raya sales event by Jovian Apparel Sdn Bhd. Returning for its third year following the success of past events, JBoxing Brunei 2019 this year is presented by the Bruneian powerhouse workshop and the multi-label shop, Bajoo Butik, with exclusive partnership with Jati Transportation Sdn Bhd.
During the event, Jovian Ready-to-Wear (RTW) showcased various different collections suited for men and women such as ‘Secret Garden, ‘Jovian Men’, ‘Retro Raya’, ‘Lace Edition’ and ‘Jovian x Ria Miranda’.
We managed to interview the Dato’ Jovian Mandagie to talk more about the collections that he brought to Brunei.
Dato’ Jovian Mandagie mentioned that there are more colours now, especially with Jovian Men collection where they increased it to more than 22 colours available for consumer and the collections follow recent trends and newer silhouettes.
“We have a few very special collections such as ‘Jovian x OhMostWanted’ that we brought from Kuala Lumpur. One of them is called Jovian x Ria Miranda, which is a collaboration collection between Jovian and Indonesian designer Ria Miranda. That is inspired by the Maghribi style found in typical Moroccan architecture while also giving the collection an Indonesian feel and taste,” said Dato’ Jovian Mandagie.
The event brought in ten new collections, with two being exclusively launched in Brunei, which are ‘Balik Kampung’ 2019 and Jovian Hijab Brunei exclusive.
“What makes the hijab special is that the prints are inspired by the national flower of Brunei, Bunga Simpur and the Balik Kampung 2019 is exclusively launched in Brunei, and it is not even available in Malaysia yet, “ explained Dato’ Jovian Mandagie.
The Balik Kampung 2019 collection was available for pre-order during the Jboxing event and people can order it from Jovian’s online store soon.
In general, those who paid a visit to JBoxing 2019 were happy to see more of Jovian Collection in Brunei. We spoke to Mawardi Hj Taib, a customer of Jovian RTW to talk about her experience with the fashion line.
