The recent launch of ‘The Box’ – a new exciting commercial space in Brunei – has managed to bring foot traffic to the Telanai area. The space accommodates over 60 vendors, and more than 20 vendors have begun operations.

The modular containers concept will hopefully give it a more interesting outlook compared to other commercial areas, and maybe act as a new tourist destination.

Speaking to Rashid Roseli of Glamcone Turkish Delights, he hopes that the whole vibe of the place will attract more people, thus allowing local companies to establish a foothold in the country.

According to Rashid, the response they have been receiving so far has been positive which was made apparent with them selling out of their ice cream before the space was closed.

To further entice people to visit the new commercial space, the heart of the space features a mini stage area to host various performances such as music, comedy and many more. The area is also available for those who are interested in hosting exhibitions.

With this and regular performances in the future, the place will hopefully help to improve the creative industry in Brunei and help The Box increase its profile in the country. While the 19,864 square foot building at the moment comprises of mostly food vendors, other enterprises are also encouraged to sell their items at the place such as beauty products, fashion outlets and others which will make the place truly unique.

Being the largest container-based building in Brunei, it is also packed with the solar panel facility and rainwater harvesting which will help towards the building becoming eco-friendly.

They hope that people will continue to support the commercial space and more vendors will come and add to the existing number of companies that are part of The Box.
