The younger generations in Brunei are often encouraged to take part in developing the nations’ future. As these are the same generations who will lead the country in the future.
“The country needs enthusiastic young people who are brave enough to come forward and lead the nation developments,” said His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam during his titah at this year’s 34th National Day.
The above titah highlighted the country’s need for these youths to help in assisting the development of the country. Over the years, there was no doubt that His Majesty’s government has aided the youth’s empowerment in the nation.
To honor His Majesty’s Birthday this year, we at Sutera had the privilege to have an interview with Yang Berhormat Awang Iswandy Ahmad, a member of of the Legislative Council (LegCo).
“His Majesty is a caring monarch – especially to the young people. He would love to see more of these younger generation to be more involved in the building of the nation,” said YB Awang Iswandy.
“For example, during the National Youth Day, His Majesty and the Royal family went to the event to give out awards to the well deserved youths as well as a ‘get together’ (Ramah Mesra) session to show that His Majesty care about the younger generations” added YB Awang Iswandy.
Of course, there were many more His Majesty’s government has done to help the youths to grow in the nation – among them were the National Youth Service and the free education for the nation.
“The Sultan oversees his government’s implementation of these benefits for his people as well as getting an inexpensive healthcare – a definition of His Majesty’s government recognition for the importance of these young generation to the country. He makes sure that the country would not have to struggle to get the basic needs of the daily routines.” highlighted YB Iswandy during the exclusive interview.
His Majesty also instils important values to the young generation such as the importance of being there with your families by introducing the National Family day – observed every first Sunday of the month of May.
“For me personally, it moves me to see His Majesty spending quality time with children – especially when he visits schools or during the ‘Get Together’ events with his subject. Children are always among his priorities,” said the 33 year-old.
The Monarch’s relation with his people is very strong for decades and may reflect as a good example for the younger generation who will lead the country in the future.
In Brunei, we should be thankful to have an authoritative and caring figure such as His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam.
We at Sutera would like to give our warmest greetings to HIs Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, in the occassion of his 72nd Birthday.
